The Story of Emily: From an Office Job to Volunteering in Africa

Emily Thompson, a 28-year-old New Yorker with a seemingly perfect life, felt unfulfilled despite her job, apartment, and social connections. One day, she came across a story about the challenges faced by people in underserved areas of Africa, which deeply moved her. However, she ended up staying for two years, helping build schools, train local teachers, and provide clean water access. She also listened to the local people’s stories and dreams.
